Anyone who have visa issue or who either are tired of being in visa that chains them and can't get out of it but; however, you have been the victim of crime in the US. Be it, being attacked by someone in gas station or robbery or whatever. It does not matter whether the supect was caught or not. Well- you have a chance for U visa that will take you to the GC path. Go figure out the rest. If you have been the vicitm of crime, be it this year or 10 years ago; it does not matter. The law allows you to get the U visa...without an interview! When googling the thing, go like U Visa (pdf)...or something like that..you'll find good resources. If you can't afford an attorney, there are several organization that will do the work for free. Hope there is no negative comment as this message is for people who are desparate and have been the vicitm of crime. Even for you all, who can be in the above situation in the future, keep this in mind that you have an opportunity. Every year, 10000 people get U visa that allows the victim and their family to stay indefinitely in the US, when approved. Approval process takes about 6 to 9 months. And after 3 years of staying in the US- you can apply for GC. This is not the best remedy for people seeking easy legal process but this is for someone who don't have any other resouces to go after!

Also whether you are currently in legal status or you don't have a status. Whether you yourself were involved in any crime in the past, it does not matter either. This is a hidden path to legality that nobody talks about! Good luck to all the current and future sufferers!

Spread the word. I believe there and at least 100 people who are out of status, have been the victim of crime and they don't know about anything. Let's help those sisters and brothers! Peace! If you need any legal advice, I'm not the right person! But let them know that if htey're determined, it will work out, fairytale for thier miserous life. Help those that are in need. I saw a documentary about a plane crash in South America and how those people who were alive, had to end up eating the ones who were dead, to survive. My message is for those who are alive (sarcastically!) That's what it is!
I have personally met brilliant Nepalese (Brilliant for me) whether emotionally or whatever..but they have a poor family background in nepal or disfunctional family in Nepal and they need to help but they can't. Because they can't take care of themselves because of status. Take the opportunity and move on. Again, the attacker doesn't have to be identified or procecuted by the US justice system!!

Let's leave the documentary. Let's not even bring in abc999. I want Nepalese in US to have a synomous thought with U visa as Diversity Visa. It is safe. But of course..for the ones how have been the victim or will be the vicitm of assualt! U visa was created mostly for illegal immigrants..where husband would harrass wife but wife would not say anything because of status issue (illegal immigration). But, this is not for just hispanics. It is for everyone! Take advantage of the law.
Whoever have spent some years in the US know that there is a very very slight chance of receiving any favor from the government, in terms of status (if you disregard DV). Make a move and settle! I didn't think that I'd get positive replies, unlike my first reply from Riddle! But again, this message is only for people who are not in status and who think the world is over for them! Wake up and move on. People in status or people who think they'll be in status in any other way or who just want to [Disallowed String for - bad word] with. PLEASE DO NOT REPLY with you negative comments! Support ! This is a sensitive stuff! Respect please!

I pondered upon it as I've never heard of it before. Anyway, this seems to be a good find. http://www.usimmigrationsupport.org/visa-u.html Not sure about its feasibility though. Maybe it's worth a try.

I read the requirements (and also found out that the quota is filled at least a year in advance, mostly by Hispanics).
Anyway, so you're saying you'd rather get a visa after getting raped, assaulted, molested or abused instead of getting hired by a company that pays a decent salary?

Of course..that company rapes you too..don't you talk all that BS with you best friends? By the way, you d'on't have to be raped etc. Just use common sense Einstien. Also. didn't you fake anything when you came to US? Don't lie to yourself.

Finally Someone said sth about U visa....I am tired of Nepalese becoming victim and not able to do anything about it...At least from now on, this route will allow the victim to be permanent resident in this country if he/she wants!

Well, just wondering do the accident victim count for this visa? Heard a lot about pople severely injured from accidents in this forum. I am sure many of them are victim of crime (drunk driver, reckless driving, etc).
