I am in a F1 status and will finish my grad school in August 2015. I haven't applied for my OPT yet. Would it best for me to apply for TPS including EAD or just apply for TPS and apply for OPT separate. FYI, I don't plan to go back to school. As it says when I apply for TPS my current status will be void, so would my OPT will be void if I get it first and apply for TPS later. Can anyone suggest me the best option? It will be really appreciated.

But doesn't the OPT get voided when we apply for TPS? This is where my concern is. Thanks for the reply.

@stha2072
Your OPT EAD will be terminated only if you apply for TPS EAD. The simple logic is that you can not have two EADs.

If you just apply for TPS, you will have both status: TPS and F1 (OPT).

I think we can file TPS without EAD now.
But In case we want EAD later- Can we file only EAD from TPS?
Please suggest.

@tpsfornepal
Right now just apply for TPS, but you have to fill EAD form too, and say NO on, are you applying for EAD?

Later after TPS approves, you can apply for EAD.
