Note: Nagarpaalikaa ma kohi haakim chinechha bhane fokatamaa bina jhanjhat sidhai English maa birth certificate banauna milchha.

Guys, I also don't have birth certificate so far...aaile samha kaam nai pareko chaina tesko. After looking at this thread, I am concerned a little bit. I will be applying for H1b this year and may be for green card if I stay here that long. I want to know if I will be required to have Birth Certificate for any of these jobs. Birth Certificate ko aru k k kam parna sakcha yaha USA ma sathi ho??

The best way is to contact Nepalese Embassy. They will charge you $25 for each issued birth certificate. I got mine from the Embassy and used it for both Canadian PR and Green Card and had no problem. You will have to send a copy of your citizenship and other required information like date of birth, father's & mother's name etc and $25, that's it. It took about 3 weeks for me to get it. Further, in your birth certificate, the embassy people will write a note saying that it was not common in Nepal to issue birth certificate from the hospital. It worked for me.

I just have a letter from my VDC stating my birthdate, my father's and grandfather's name. Would that be sufficient to be considered birth certificate?
