Reasons:
Maoists wanted to talk to the KING only..Under normal conditions, King does not have executive power (enjoyed byelected prime-minister )...therefore, it makes sense that to start dialogue with maoists, KING has no option, but to take the power by himself..This is the truth and international community understand it.. That's why there has not been strong objection from international community regarding this royal take over..
Now if we want to see a stable nepal, then we should urge all political parties not to involve in politics for some period (practicing self-abstinence from politics) and see how the communication between the KING and maoists progress...I am sure this will pave new avenues for nepal..let us just wait for awhile more..but in the mean time, sucker political party figures, stop your dirty games and donot excite innocent people against themselves!! rather go to KASHI / tirthdhaam for a while...

Next move of King G should be to make paras the negotiator for peace with the Maobadis. So both parties can shoot each other if the talks failed.

Pade Queen

Ramesh nath pandey from what I know about him is a THAG. His being the FM will do oodles of good for his son Nichal Nath who heads some foreign institute. Before nischal nath, Dr. Mohan Lohani was heading the same insitute. Dr. Lohani is a guy in his 60s while Nischal is in his early 30s. Now Nischal nath should be given the job as the Ambassador to India. Afterall his father is now the foreign minister.

----

Its the Institute of Foreign Affairs as far as I know. I heard that Mohan Lohani, a Prof of English literature and the least qualified for the job was replaced by a better, qualified and hard-working person by Deuba just around the time of Kathmandu SAARC Summit, 2002.

COTOB (kasto laamo naam ho!)
I agree with you.

IFji,
I agree Mohan Lohani was a total misfit for that post. His profession is in academics. By Chakadi-chukli he became Ambassador to Bangladesh during Begum Hasina's time. After his tenure as Ambassador was over, he got the job as the head of that Insititute of Foreign Affairs. It must have been the handy work of Prakash Chandra Lohani, Mohan Lohani's first cousin, who at that time was the Foreign Minister.

About Nischal Nath's capability I am unaware of anything regarding him. I am not trying to make any comparisons here. I am just trying to say that because Nischalnath is the son of Ramesh Nath, it must have been easier for him to rise up unhindered.

Pade Queen Ji,
Mohan Lohani was not only a total misfit , but a total disaster for the job, if my sources are to be believed. I heard nobody worked at the institute when he was it's executive director rey.. rey ko kura, sacho kura thaha chaina.. Then came the SAARC summit and heard Deuba needed someoe more qualified to organzie the conference successfully.. So he had to hire someone who was very qualified for the job rey.. Yo pani suneko kura.

Maile pani chineko chaina. khali suneko ho.. maybe his being teh son of Rameshnath has helped him in his carreer, hoina?

i thought the competition between thapa, pandey, kunwar and basnet khalaks for power was over after jung bdr rana took office. but, looks like it hasnt. it was just some months back nepal had thapas in so many posts (PM, FM, army chief, election chief, etc). and now, there is Pandey coming to office... and some ranas too.... looks like behind the scenes such forces are still active (maybe in a different manner to those 200 backs though)

Pade_Queen,

I was talking about Nischal's wife being grand-daughter of this or the previous Bada-Gurju.

Many believe that Ramesh Nath Pandey to be the illegitimate child of Gen. Padma Bdr Khatri with a Pandey woman. There is uncanny resemblance between the two. Gen. Kahtri was, I believe, instrumental, in the rise of Ramesh Pandey.

That fata** pandey and his son are one motherf**kin suckups which is why they are where they are now. Like father like son, son is as motherf**kin idiot as his father. Even though I support the king 100%, I can't stand those motherf**kin father/son baun team. They will even jack the king if they get a chance, thats the only concern I have.

Those who are not under house arrest do not have access to money.. therefore they will not organize any protest. Apart from that even if they have money still they may not be able to get the protesters walking on the streets as they are afraid to be hit by bullets. Asti samma ta Deuba or Surya Bahadur govt thiyo. at least they would not release bullets so easily.. but NOT NOW.

Among others, What caught my eye with excitement/amusement is,

"Next move of King G should be to make paras the negotiator for peace with the Maobadis. So both parties can shoot each other if the talks failed."

Hahahahah that was funny Lovaboy, LMAO.

Now I rem. R.k. Mainali and C.P. Mainali, hmmm from padequeen's info. hmmmmmmmm, had forgotten. among other things, i heard they were very notorious.

Anyways, very interesting discussion.

Check out this news from Voice of America. They think Dan Bdr Shahi is new Prime Minister... this shows that americans are not serious about the current event happening in Nepal.

Could John F Kennedy become president had it not been for his extremely rich dad?
Could George Bush become president had it not been for his dad?
The list goes on and on....one can debate this...dusk till dawn.
I guess we live in a world of inequities and injustices. People will always struggle for power and money. Dissent and disagreement, especially in times of trouble, is frightening. But it is the necessary price of finding real solutions to real problems.

IFji,
Ramesh Nath's wife Kanti is the grand-daughter of Hemraj Pandit aka Mahila Gurju (who put the crown on young Gyanendra's head) from his daughter's side. Kanti's uncle Keshari raj was Gurju for a couple of years. Keshari raj worked for a couple of decades in Paris for UN. Its disappointing that even though he stayed abroad so long. he could not resist the offer of the reactionay Gurju post.

I don't know anything about who nischal married.

I don't know about Ramesh Nath Pandey's disputed parentage issue. Anyway, FATHER IS A PROBABILITY, MOTHER IS A CERTAINTY Hoina ra.
