Dear Friends,
Bollywood is making a movie about Gautam Buddha and they are searching an actor for it. In their website they say that "Buddha. Siddhartha was from the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India."

Take a look at: http://www.buddha-movie.com/

Please email them at
info@buddha-movie.com
or
publicity@buddha-movie.com

to correct the fact to " Budhha was born in modern day Nepal."

Let's make our voices heard against the 'hepaha pravriti.'

Nepali Mutu

When I heard it first, I was so enraged by this, but not after sending so many email to pbs, and commenting on so many youtube videos, I think I am giving it up. Nobody really cares. Let that Buddha be born in India. Kya nai naap cha ra. Bekaar ko tauko dukhai.

Saalay Kukur Indian dhoti aawara log haru, tum bewakuf haru kai zindabad.

Dear India Pidit Saathi haru,

It's easy to give up and be disappointed. The Indian propaganda about Buddha is intense and it requires the same level of confrontation. Once upon a time, online presence of Nepalese people was almost absent but its encouraging how Nepalese these days are defending their heritage and identity, at least on web portals. It should also be noted that using insulting, derogatory words and curses does not help the very cause of the argument. In fact, it diminishes and negatives the point that we are trying to make.

Lets not focus on what the leaders are doing because I don't think much can be expected from their generation. It's us now.

As for my part, I have done my job by sending a short, decent and crispy argument why it is incorrect to say "Siddhartha was from the foothills of the Himalayas in Northern India."

Moreover, don't forget to threaten them about a possible international boycott attempt if the historical fact is not corrected, just in case, you know !!

Here are the emails for the lazy hearts:

Sajhafan, I don't know what was originally written regarding the birthplace of buddha. But the documentary that was aired on PBS starts with a sentence saying something like "Buddha was born in a border between Indian and Nepal".

So, I guess those emails must have worked.

That is still technically wrong. The point that "Buddha was born in a border between Indian and Nepal" makes Buddha was born in No-Man's land. It should either keep mum about Nepal and India or, just say he was born in Lumbini then.

All,

Stop this nonsense! Let the Indians bark as much as they want, they will not be able to hide and run away from facts. I watched the entire PBS show on Buddha a couple of weeks back for 2 hours.  They said that "Buddha was born in the foothills of Himalayas in southern Nepal." Why we feel so much humiliated by the Indians even they were the British subjects and we are independent. We all know our idiot leaders visit the southern palace for the political guidance and here we waste our mind cursing the Indians. Be it and live with the reality. If we really want to build a solidarity, it should be against the corrupt leaders and parties in Nepal, that's where the changes come from.

Ok, they have fixed it now. They removed the 'in Northern India' part. But never dared to put 'in Nepal.' Still dal has something black. Keep watching.

Dhoti bhaiya haru are crazy people. Few weeks ago in BBC, they were claiming that Jesus Christ was never resurrected and he somehow escaped from the tomb after crucifixion, and went to Kashmir, India. Later he died in Kashmir. I guess if BBC reports than the Indians must be pretty serious about this claim too.

I think they believe that they have monopoly in anything and everything that is related to spirituality and religion.
