Hi Better Nepal, As per my knowledge It is difficult to bring wife if you are green card. But you can try as a F1 withoutshowing marriage relationship. If the girl has some schlorship/tuition wave then it will more chance of getting visa. Take suggestion from other experts also.

Maalpaani, when did USCIS start giving away green cards based on proficiency in english? I didn't really know that.

Sathi, timro green card transfer garna milcha vani gara na malai? ani then wil tel u if it's really difficult to bring wife to US or not... jokes apart, it's not difficult but a long process. Going through some legal adivsor can sort things easily within a year time. Though not an expert on it, I have heard the same from lot other experienced people. Just sharing lil bit of tht with u.

buddy chances are very few, becuase once you apply her as a wife through I-30, then it is a headache for USCIS to change it to another status of F1, unless she has a schoolarship. Best way is to apply her as F1 as unmarried before you apply for I-30. It is just taking a chance, otherwise you got a wait whole four years to get her in United States. Best of luck

BN, Your wife will be considered as a potential immigrant since you are a permanent resident. But F-1 is considered as a non immigrant visa . A potential immigrant on a non immigrant visa means a dual intentions of entering to US, which might be a problem for you. Better way is to try for her F-1 first and get married after she comes here in US. These are just my ideas, I am not an immigration lawyer though.
