I recently graduated with a bachelors degree from US. I've been here for a while and I am now seeking change in my lifestyle. I am thinking about going to europe for my masters. Any suggestions? Also I am still in US working in this company. How do i apply for school and move to europe? Any suggestions would be so great.

Go to Germany or Scandinavia. Or even Belgium as colleges/higher education is free. You'll also enjoy a wide range of things to do, enjoy sports you love and potentially lead a great lifestyle. But you're gonna have to get used to new culture and more importantly, learn a new language. Essentially, you'll be starting all over again.

Good luck.

??? Come on dude. ???

I'd strongly suggest you to get Masters here in US unless you really have a legit logical reason.

Move forwards, not back. You will feel handicapped due to language poroblem. Job market is not as big and open there as is here.

People from Europe are going to other countries for employment, not all but some such as Spain,Portugal,Italy .Why would you think of going to Europe?Education might be free , but learning new language and getting jobs wont be easy as in the US. United states is a diverse country with so many people from all over the world, and still there is some racism and discrimination specially, if you go to ;ess  populated states with majority white populations such as North Dakotas,South Dakotas,Iowa, Idaho etcs...But atleast, you have more rights here in the US. Europe except England, may not be that diverse.Personally,I wouldnt imagine living in Europe even though they have very high living standards, but those are for native Europeans.

Where you thinking about moving anyway? How about Australia? I hear pay's significantly higher in Australia than the US and lifestyle is similar too. Maybe you should consider it.

I was in similar situation few months back. The offer was so good that it took me four months to decide. During this time I talked to some friends of mine in Germany (I got an offer from Germany). I also talked to my Grad School advisor. Finally, I turned down the offer and didn't leave US. The top two reasons were language and I didn't want to start all over again. It is your decision so decide carefully.

This may sound rude but people dont leave US unless they have some kinds of issue like visa, status, jobs, etc. Come on dude be honest.

Jhapaliketo,

Think it the other way around, why should they leave if they don't have issues that you have mentioned?

Exactly Sparty, I dont see any other reaon for which people would leave US unless they have some issues. All other reasons are just an excuse.

This may be little bit off the issue mentioned above but , heres my take..

Few people still leave usa even after having papers and better jobs and one cant call them retards. They might want to be closer to their family, raise kids on their own and not by baby sitters. Like in earlier posts, In US, you will achieve material wellbeing, but people still may not be happy . Family members back home etcs and even though he/she could bring them back, it may not feel as in Nepal. People might want to raise their kids in nepalese society, teach nepalese values, traditions  etc....After living here for a long time, ppl get used to comforts such as no blackouts, better roads..law and order and many more, If someone is from relatively wealthy family in Nepal, they could be happy there. If someone just gets here from village and has nothing left out in Nepal and also has not succeeded in US, he/she will not dare going back to Nepal or anywhere else.

In Nepal, there is bandh and no law and order. But still almost 30 million ppl are surviving and many are making lot more money then ppl here in the US on student visas or working professionals. They have more time for their family and have houses, need not worry about mortgages ...

Cyrus - agreed

I have seen this trend . I graduated last year and I have already seen two of friends return to back to Nepal. One wanted to join politics, so left with a bachelors in liberal arts. The other guy was electrical eng major with a good paying job. He still wanted to be with his family and was tired of the fast paced life out here. Both of them were from financially sound families( ktm ma ghar bhaako, bauko sarkari jaagir bhaako?

Anyway
Europe looks like a tough choice considering the fresh start and the language barriers and how European Union has been progressing -- not.
In comparison to us

I have been here for 7 years and currently working in IT and and about to graduate with masters degree in IT. Will work 5  more years and then head nepal for good. I have few projects in mind that I could do in Nepal and live a worry free life.  America is good to learn, earn  and apply it back home ,get closer to your family and your roots. If you raise your kids here, they will be americanized and forget Nepalese norms and values as parents are too busy working paying for their mortgages, car lease payments and many other expenses. We nepalese are known to adapt better to new environment  and culture compared to Muslims,Chinese, Indians who are good at maintaining their customs and traditions.

Also, you might earn here 100ks at your jobs but after taxes ,rents and many other expenses , it will be very difficult to save money. You will save more in Nepal.
