Ever since democracy came in 2046 poverty rate has plummeted from 49 percent to 28% in 2007. Infrastructure has also been built to a great extent.  By the end of this year every village in Nepal will be accessible by telephone. If it wasn't for the Maoist revolution better results could have been achieved....I guess we've been so groomed at demonizing politicians that we always seem to overlook the positive changes democracy has brought about.

Remember, Rome was not built in a day, nor was any other prosperous society. Development thrives within the framework of a democracy and although sometimes we may be antagonized by selfish motives of politicians, in the end there is no substitute for democracy. Status of Nepal would be relegated to those African countries characterized by famine, hunger and genocide in the absence of democracy

I for one believe that change in Nepal is happening for the better. When massive changes such as in Nepal come about, it brings along with it several discordant elements, which smooth out over the course of time. peace..

If it happens for the better ...Im with you davechappel.................but you are a very positive thinker....whats it called pessimist????....whatever.........The reason Nepal is in deep turmoil is because people like you see hope in the Bhasan and speech given by these Netas............comon you dont seem like the person who would fall for this......do you??? where do you see good my fren ????? Terai problem is left untouchhed.......they have already said they will not let the elections happen..................YCL still does what evre they feel like.......India just bought upperkarnali under our nose and NO opposition at all when french and canadian companies were denied who were ready to pay ten times more than what india got . load shedding time increases in a country rich with hydro power.......And you still see hope????......Terai enroachment by Indian security and throwing our Nepali Flag down and punishing, arresting Nepali citizens at will when the government looks the other way and you say that is good for the country........or that is the way to peace..or that is the things nepalese people have to go through to have a final peace???you say lots more to die before peace finally arrives........?????? no my fren thats way too much to ask for a small country like Nepal...........if peace is what we all want than just let anyone who says they want to bring peace to the country rule.......................why not ????? Yet they all fight......because each believes their peace is better than the others peace.......LOL......and just under our nose one day you will see Indian flag flying instead of Nepals flag.....................Im not saying you think bad or you are blind.......Just be more cautious my fren.......dont be so positive that oneday.........peace.............................................its been decades...........just when it seems things are normal .....dirtypolitics follows and back to.......square one........
