Let me give you one example on why its different. If you had watched BBC instead of Door Darshan and Hollywood instead of Bollywood, you would have passed SLC with a B+ grade instead of mere 32 in English.

If you had taught yourself English rather than Hindi you would have become more competitive Globally now than what you are currently.

I am not against watching Hindi Movies but i am just making an argument that if Nepalese People had worshiped ten times lesser than how much they worship Hindi language and culture, it would have made them globally more competitive than Indians. I know those Hindi Movie lovers here in US who are just qualified to work in India Mart for some greasy Indian. Had he watched Hollywood instead of Bollywood since his childhood, he could have possibly gotten a better job here or anywhere else.

If you are referring to Americans, they are sitting at home with unemployment benefit until the economy turns around.

Why do we have boarding schools that teach in English? Coz we learned it from the Indians. Why do we have theatres that run Bollywood movies? Coz we imitate Indians.
Is it wrong to imitate Indians?  I wouldn't completely rule it our, especially when their economy saw double digit growth while we let terroists run our country.

Look at these corrupt brains, you really think there are boarding schools in Nepal because there are boarding schools in India. You probably think Chinese learned the English medium schooling from India too..and french and germans....lol,...what a half brain. Do you know that not even Indians like to talk Hindi, they use English to talk to each other more than Hindi, only few northern states speak Hindi rest of the states dont give a crap about Hindi, and your half brain worships Hindi more than a Hindi native.

Nowadays any country is learning English as English has pretty much become the most dominated language of the world. Indians would have learnt English regardless of English ruling the country or not. As a matter of fact the drive for learning english in India was pushed by Narshima Rao and Manamohan singh who is the current primeminister. Those two worked on investing a lot on educating Hindi and non Hindi speaking masses to speak english. Thus the prosperity that we are seeing 20 years later. If you really need to lick the greasy Indian Pair, why dont you lick the good side of the pair, why dont you learn the hardworking attitudes of Indian rather than the lines from cheesy Govinda Movies....

Wake up from the dilusion, buddy..grow a pair for yourself than licking Indian's Pair.

I knew your pea-sized brain had deprived you of the necessary neurons so I was hesitant to reply but I am counting on a miracle that may be you will actually comprehend the following words. If not, I will let you shower yourself on your own ego and logic.

Yes there are boarding schools in Nepal because we learned it from the Indians. If you look at the history of education in Nepal, our system is very similar to that of India. Dating to Nepali scholars going to Banaras back in the days to to the T.U system incorporating division system  (first division, second division, and the infamous gandhi division), our educational system is a replica of the Indian system.

How did you ever make the conclusion from my statement that I was saying Chinese learned English from Indians?   Do you know most Chinese don't learn English in school and they don't need to. Japanese did fine without learning English. Only recently have these countries started educating people in English.
This is very different for India and Nepal. I believe the TU syllabus dating back to even 1960s used to be in English. The fact is that if India had not used English education system, we would not have got any of those Indian print "English books," neither would we have ever learned English to such as scale as we have now.

Sidster & I_My are telling, I am Indian influence    because I like to wear Saree..I think Gay Goat  will take care of them, I am out of this nonsense.

There is no denying we cannot live without India on the South.We got almost everything from them but now China has moved in too. Remember we DO NOT get them for free. Keep in mind we pay. They have as much to gain from us, of course we have more, agreed. But there is absolutely no need to hate the Indians for that, as some here has done. Like someone pointed out why not learn the good quality from them than to waste time watching movies, each 3 hours or more, of theirs, millions of them. We (at least my generation) grew up watching few movies a week, some of my buddy watched 2 in a day. That is 6 hours of our time being wasted. Can you imagine if we put those hours to volunteer (a foreign concept in out culture of course) for something like to pick up trash in your neighbourhood, social work at school, library and other charity. Everybody makes mistake like my generations, what we can do is spread the knowledge that is was wrong. Is that wrong?I'm not saying we should boycott Hindi movies, instead put the youth for some productive work. Of course it needs a radical change in our values and culture.

We have always depended on India since the beginning and we payed money for those goods. Does that mean we should eat their garbage?

India is where they are now because of words like "Be Indian and Buy Indian" started by a smart leader. Why not we initiate something like that, not out of disrespect to them. We DO need the rice and the petrol from them to survive, no denying that, but we'll not starve or die if we limit how much our kids get exposed to their garbage (come on, most of them are). Bottom line, no matter what we say, our youth and even adults waste so much of time and energy watching Indian movies. We can prove it with statistics. There is nothing wrong to divert those energy for something else.

Bob ...I appreciate your views...but I think watching Indian movies is also helping us to save our country upto a certain extent.....it is helping us to get a little less chaos than it already is...atleast helping to save some of our windows glasses...

Are you asking me how??? Atleast it is keeping some of the kids off the road breaking railing and calling bandhs inside their house...atleast they are watching movies for 6 hours and not wasting their engery breaking other person's windows or buring vehicle...what you say?? Energy??...Didn't you see the scenes of Kathmandu few days back??
