Everyone can feel the ongoing battle of wits between Ashu and Nepe. How about we have a poll. Who would you vote for: Ashu or Nepe?

Respond with either ashu or nepe only.

sorry that i forgot to ask if anyone else wanted to take part in the election. You can run independently too if you put your name in this poll.

Bidwan-jee,

Interesting Nepe Ji....

Thats why I was saying sooner or later King and Party will come to compromise, may be this time with Girija as PM.

Dream of republic state of Nepal will be crushed again...

Cos like you and Ashu ji, king and political parties have conflict for power and political issue only, in all other issue they agree.....

Both of them agree (I mean patries and king) that rudi badi tradition should be left behind with monarchy and minorities problem should never be dealt...

It is sad but truth is if we do not solve the root cause of the problem, only compromise between parties and king and war/compromise with maoist will not be a permanent solution. The solution will be only temporary until another Babu Ram or Prachanda will come forward to play with minorities sentiment for their self benefit.

lastly, on lighter not since Nepe ji not interested in competing in this election what about Ashu Vs. My candidate (Parashe...)

Nepe Ji
It was just for sake of some wry humor but I wouldn't be wrong to say that Ashu and Nepe represents the top two honchos in sajha.

Let's say 10 years down the line one has to vote amongst two of you. I'm wondering who would win.

Wouldn't you be interested in knowing?

:)

Some verifiably true observations:

Nepe has called me many things here.
I have called Nepe many things too.

Nepe has ridiculed me countless times here.
I have ridiculed Nepe countless times too.

Nepe and I have heatedly, passionately and even (according to some) viciously disagreed on a number of things here.

But then Nepe and I have agreed on a number of things too.

Happily, everything was out in the open -- with nothing to hide.

And one thing about all this openness is that Nepe and I (to the extent I can discern) carry NO emotional baggage of any kind from all these discussions-- and can therefore shrug off the heated disagreements

WITHOUT taking things personally,
WITHOUT lettings unresolved issues fester and putrefy and then come out in very ugly, despicable ways
WITHOUT holding the sort of dark and black grudges that eat away our own emotional fiber, and
WITHOUT taking ourselves so seriously that our identities get wrapped up in what we say on Sajha.

That much, I am confident about.

I have NEVER put my Sajha activities on my resume, but I'd be the first person
to admit that I have learnt a lot by placing various ideas on this crucible of public
scrutiny, and, in doing so, have learnt a lot from all, especially from those who hold
OPPOSITE and challenging views. In this, I can say that I have learnt a lot from
Nepe.

Ultimately though, the fact that we both are still going on and on in Sajha (despite holding pretty stressful day-time jobs with myriad responsibilities) is probably a testament to the fact that this is has been -- underneath it all -- in a spirit of
serious fun.

And so, Nepe, finally, if you are going to be in KTM in early March this year, you are hereby invited as a guest to my wedding reception. After all, hey, let the good times
be shared, hai na ta?

Of course, this does NOT mean that there will be no disagreements on various topics in the future . . . :-)

Ashu just like you don't know what goes on in those closed discussions, Nepe's opinion about this is not OPEN and PUBLIC as you would like to believe

so

I would think twice before inviting him to your party.

In Jest

Maybe :)

Enough said about Nepe/Ashu discourse already - so I'll say none.

*****
Ashu,
Congratulations are in order eh! Really good news - I trust that the wedding reception goes well. My best wishes.

Hey, I wouldn't mind having a few sips at Port/चाम्पाग्ने with you (and your soon-to-be better-half) if you happen to be trotting about in my part of the world any time in the future.

Good luck.

What a delightful news to share ! Congratulations, Ashu. Or, should I say samabedana for your losing freedom and tag of eligibility for good.

I wish I could attend the reception and entertain the guests and bhauju (buhari) with my ghazals.

And who is the lucky lady ? Can you reveal it to us ?

I do hope she is not someone I had a crush on some day. Otherwise, I have to come to Kathmandu ala "My Best friend's Wedding". :-)

Nepe

Bidwan,

They say, may they don't, however, way to a man's heart is through his sweetheart.

It's been years I have not been able to win Ashu's political heart. Do I have a chance now ? I am wondering.
