I couldn't help noticing how most nepalis are quick to follow but decision makers are nowhere to be seen. Is it because of religion? The hundreds of years of shah/ rana rule? Is it because of the dominated gene pool? Because everyone is so into following, there is a deficit of leaders. The greatest so called leader right now is prachanda, who has cleaned his hands clean of the blood of 15000 people. There must be something really wrong if he is the only leader in nepal.

After following your discussion history, I've come to conclusion that all you do in Sajha.com is inject stereotype. With that said, you do raise a genuine questions. "how most nepalis are quick to follow but decision makers are nowhere to be seen."Religion has nothing to do with it. Do you have any data or evidence to back your statement? Are you making random statement based on few hundred people that you have come across? "The hundreds of years of shah/ rana rule?"In your eyes Nepal is a third world country and yes it is true. We are severely under developed. People lack education and for the most part struggle to maintain the basic necessity of live. Your comments are equivalent to an European who just stepped foot in United States during the slavery era who is losing her sleep over, why black become slave? Why can't they rise above slavery? Why don't they stand up for their rights? From an outsiders perspective it does not make any sense but only the black people knew how hard it was. Likewise the political system is corrupt from the ground up in Nepal. Hence, people who want to assume leadership and are honest are finding hard to rise up. "The greatest so called leader right now is prachanda"How can you declare that Prachanda is the greatest leader right now? On what basis? What do you think that he has done so great to be titled as the "Greatest leader right now?" "cleaned his hands clean of the blood of 15000 people"Are you calling his "greatest leader right now" because he was able to get his hand clean and get away with what he has done so far? In conclusion, Majority of people are uneducated. The country is getting brain drained as all the youth leave the country for better opportunities. The one's that stay cannot rise into leadership because of the corrupt politics that goes on in Nepal. Ever wondered how Girija Prashad Koirala is still in politics and has big cards in his pocket? I assume you grew up in the western democratic society and you only have spend limited time in Nepal. This is why I think your assumption are false, which I don't hold you responsible for. You have your opinions and I have mine.

Erratic- Well said! You made my half page explanation look small. To anyone who plans to respond to this thread, "You can lead a horse to water, but you can’t make the F**ng thing drink."

Erratic you may have caused atro to jump up and down and dance with joy by citing aristotle but it still does not impress me yet. You may be right that someone should know how to follow before being able to lead. But the problem is that nepalis haven't learned how to follow yet. They follow any leaders that run them off a cliff I would call that following blindly. So why don't nepalis learn to follow wisely so that as aristotle says they may become good leaders someday?

They know how to follow(blindly), they just haven't learned how to follow wisely. Let us not get too stuck on one particular saying and focus on the bigger picture.

Well, by going with your name I presume that u r a white son of a bi*ch. Every country has its time of glory and even the rome had to fall. What I am trying to say here is, We are having a bad time in our survival as a country, its a struggle. It is like, we are having great debates about how we wanna run our country. What kind of governance would be better for all of us? We are trying to figure out. Listen white as* , Germanic people followed hitler to the last minute, was that a good following? Italians gave rise to the fascism with the help of musolini and you White as* didn't do nthing when hitler went to the warsa. So, where was ur kuhire chaak when humanity needed and now you come here and tell us that we are a bad follower. Right now, in our contemporary history of US Abraham Lincon is regarded as the greatest president, but during the civil war he was the demon to white southerners! Kuhire every country has ups and downs. Were northerners, as u said bad follower? White as* only knows how to rape a slave, how to destroy native land, how to do a massacre in the name of law, and how to manipulate the host. White as* are good on creating empire, but on serving the people, well there is no democracy to blacks, browns, yellows, and so many others! Democracy only to the golden hair, blue eyes, and fair skin! Fu*king white as* christian, they always bring up religion when they know they got loads of gun hiding in the back seat of their car!

Khuire, just in case if you you are wondering why a lot of people in here address you as a male while you'e a female, it's because you incorrectly chose your name. In Nepali khuire means western tourist with fair skin, khuirene or khairene would be the right choice. So you have been trying really hard to come up with steriotypical questions lately to vent anger of normal life living Nepalis in sajha. I have to tell you i'm quiet impressed with how you practice racism under the umbrella of ignorance. bravo, you do it so clean that most Nepalis here think you're genuinely concerned about the Nepali situations and you have real questions. what they don't realize is you're one arrogant fool who likes to irrate normal Nepalis simply by asking your stupid questions. the "underwear" thread tells us a lot about what exacly you're trying to do here. And i'm sure you must claim youself to be not raicst but the sad part is that u don't even realize how racist you are. wow how quickly and smoothly you tried to establish that we love being dominated, we have "dominated gene pool". you could have said Nepali people are patience or just learning but no you targeted the whole race and again just like in other threads you made it sound like it was an ignorant and honest question. I'm sure you wouldn't dare to go to a black person in your own country and ask if they have a dominated gene pool. Let me ask you , how do you feel someone from dominated gene pool to be your president , do you get mad and feel like burning and killing darkies cuz he didn't happen to be from your your gene pool; dominating as oppose to dominated?

Khuire, (assuming you are a Khuire) you might have been welcomed when you visited Nepal(which I doubt) but you are not in Sajha. By choosing your name as Khuire and putting up irritating comments you have lost some respect that we have here at Sajha. On top of that you are asking us qustions which we should be asking ourselves. That does not help the situation. Your questions- no matter how sincere they might be - are like asking "Dude why did you do crack?" to a person in rehab. All you are doing by posting these threads is building up hatred towards white people in the sajha community. At this point, i highly doubt you to be actually khuire. I think you are someone who was T-bagged by a white boy when you were drunk and you are just trying to vent here. PS: like everyone says, "my 2 cents".

I truly believe Kuire has raised serious question, we shouldn't take it lightly as she has valid points!! cause she has the facts (data) to back, at the same time i believe generalizing NEPALI in general is "SAMPLING BIAS." Facts to support her claim. 1. We are Mercenaries ( British Gurkha, Indian Army, Singapore police and so on...), we are NOT JUST BRAVE as PORTRAIT!! WE Follow Orders, without raising a Questions!! that is one of the reason we are STILL A MERCENARIES (a cheap blood)!! About GENE POOL: You are a doctor, you should know more about GENE, for it to change it makes considerable TIME (Millions of Years)!! Also, I believe in Evolution and truly believe we share a primate genes. So if you brush any evolutionary books from [( Desmond Morris (The Naked Ape, Richard Hawkins (The Selfish Gene/ Blind Watchmaker....(God's Delusion fame)]......you'll realize even though we have advanced socially and culturally (less than 10,000 years)...but genetically we are still the same old ape!![we had same gene when we were cave man and still its same]!! APE follows PECKING Order....so following has been part of our GENE...yours as well as mine!! (well leading too.. :-), if you are Alpha) About Socially: I agree to the fact, that our society was and is formulated in such a manner, where we follow (or listen to) our elder, (cause) "upon the shoulders of giants" as Newton said!! We can achieve great accomplishments only when we can turn back and look at our history!! Nepal was (may be is in some part) very closed society, [may be from the period of late 19th century to Early 21st Century]!! (mainly political reason..still we face the same music) we stayed (stay) in joint family(sudo-pecking order were followed(even in nucleus family it exists). Thus that was a building block of our society (so is (was) yours)!! So listening (following) to our elder comes natural to us!! IS IT BAD? LACK of Leaders in NEPAL: May be Nepal is Lacking a STATESMAN like (JFK or FDR), leaders I doubt!! (you should provide us with the facts to back your claim, that we don't have leaders...)...Cause I see Nepalese are Natural BORN Leaders!!( Look at how many small or big Entrepreneur we have in our country)...aren't they LEADER?? don't they have LEADERSHIP GENE?? you should look closely, Nepalese are very political aware citizen(just compare no. of people vote)!! we have more than 30% Ladies in out Parliament (can US claim so?)..aren't they LEADERS? Even though we are taking a BABY STEPS...within a year of declaring REPUBLIC we have more than 30% Ladies in Parliament...(now you tell me, when was VOTING RIGHT ACT was passed in US)?? At LAST: may be our GDP is low, but our GHP(GROSS HAPPINESS PRODUCT)[ Term coined by Karna Shakya!! is HUGE!! we Nepalese are CONTENT, HAPPY BY BIRTH people (Majority).....you should look for the figure of DEPRESSION MEDICINE sold, Suicide rate, hate crime rate, in US(and other so called DEVELOPED NATION) and COMPARE it with NEPAL!! ( Video made my Californian Girl)!! We are HAPPY and We are Natural Leaders!!

Sorry for late reply got tied up with school. Geda gudi you hit the nail on most parts but the Gross Happiness Product is nothing but consolation prize that you give yourself. There is no such thing as happiness index it's imaginary. You don't know how much people in villages suffer. Granted they act all happy and full of smiles in front of visitors, but do you don't understand their suffering to make ends meet. In some ways ignorance is bliss for these people but do you really recommend people to be happy by ignorance? If that was the case, memory erasing drugs would be so popular.

I totally agree with your view point, "the consolation prize" and yet we are happy!! WHY? because ours(yours too) society is founded like that...."when ones need is small we tend to be more happy!!" (Ignorance is Bliss remember :-) [Just read about MASLOW's Pyramid] You, me and Them we all belong to different society, our needs are different and our definition for Suffering is different. (remember we all fall in different steps of MASLOW's PYRAMID) Well "Ignorance has been Bliss" for MANY, its the degree of Ignorance that varies!! Also I can say with HIGH PROBABILITY , the Smile and hospitality you received was GENUINE and was not ACT!!memory erasing medicine would be popular no doubt (look how popular is anti depressant in America), rather than finding the ROOT CAUSE of the PROBLEM, they are just covering the symptoms!! As you are a Doctor, I would recommend you to do research on, WHY is CONSUMPTION OF ANTI-DEPRESSANT IS SO HIGH in America?

Even the Americans were followers, like he said to Nepali, why you voted 2nd time to Bush? Was he the best candidate? Nope , they were in fear, fear of war that can never be won.
You so called kuhuire , you were in the deepest sh++t. Look at yourself and your so society, then raise a question to others.
