hay guyz,

how come somebody gonna know if he/she lost the laptop. if you inform to cops, then how can they figure out the position of the laptop or find that out. is there any way , someone can suggestt me about this.

if somebody will steal and format the harddisk........and re-partition it and try to build up everything with the fresh software is there still possibility of knowing it?

Dude, get a new one, therez no way u gonna get it back, tell it to cops, they will ask for service no. or serial no. and tell u that if they find it in pawn shop then they'll let u know, and u know that aint gonna happen. Unless you have lo-jack software installed, heard ,if some one  connects to internet, its gonna locate where ur comp. is other wise forget it.

Score sorry to hear that....yea i agree with people above it only possible to track down ur laptop if u have tracking device installed in your computer. the other thing depend on what brand coz there are few brand in US whose manufacture actually have access to the information of your Laptop through serial no. no matter where ever it is( online). so there might be way to get to that person through his data. offcourse this is not easy u have to go through all hassle.
