This report was published in KOL. An elderly couple with bahun sirname have donated their entire possession to a hospital. This must be some conniving scheme of bahuns huh ? How can bahuns do any good?

Couple donates entire property for hospital

KATHMANDU, March 4 - An elderly couple has donated their entire possession to a proposed community hospital in Lekhnath Municipality.
Fifty-seven year old Rewati Raman Poudel and his fifty-two year old wife Shanti announced they would donate their property worth 3 million rupees.
The two have been actively trying to raise fund for the construction of the hospital since Saturday by organizing a Maha-yagya.
The couple says they made the decision so that their grandchildren could have access to medical facilities in the town. They also say that if a hospital is near-by, then the lives of many people could be saved.
The couple’s decision has been widely welcomed by their family members who have even extended monetary support for the venture.
The fund raising drive has so far collected nearly Rs. 5.8 million. (rk)

I ususally don't like to get into this jaat/Gotra thing. The reason I decided to respond here is what these respectable couple did is more commendable than what their last name is. Don't you think? The act is praiseworthy-the last name has no significance, although the persons are to be acknolowdeged with their full names. But to slave those good souls for their last name is an insult to their glorious dedication, malai ta tyasto po lagyo.
Sajjan ra khattam manchhe jun sukuai jaat ma ni hunchhan ni, hoina ra? Be proud -and I admire- if you are a good bahun tara sabai bahun ka ramra kaamka thekedar huna khojya jasto dekhiyo bhane Biruwako broko purpose defeat hudaina ra?
Just a thought. Biruwa bro feri ma mathi aailagne haina ni hai. Maile ta man ma lagya kuro bhanya matrai ho--ma bro ko dushman ta haina ni.

Indeed their heart is not defined by their surnames. Or what caste the surnames belong to.
But sajha has been a ground to lambast the particular caste to which these "entire donors" belong to. I was wondering what the response of those responders will be to this news.
Those who have participated in the recent bahun bashing have perhaps not been and seen outside of their community or they may have been blind sighted so I posted this news to let them know that a bahun has also commited a good deed. But yes you r right deep bro that couple don't only symbolize a particular caste. the couple symbolize a big heart and I hear u.
If only more people in Nepal have such a big heart we would not have so much misery in our "janma bhumi".

Yo ukti sampurna MBA degree ko biparit hunasakla. Jebhaye pani hospital banayera janata ko sewa garne Poudel dampati ko udaharan praiseworthy chha. Asha garoun hospital le kewal Paudel dampati ka grandchildren matrai hoina sabai sarbasadharan pideet janata le pani sewa paunechhan.

Biruwa, they gave because of their kind heart. Their being bahun has nothing to do with it. It is conniving of you to bring up thier ethnicity to show your support for whatever cause you believe in.

Okkey you is do them math. One nice bahun peopal donasion lots of money which is very very good. You is tryin to say them Bahun peopal is very very nice because other peopal did not do no donasion. Well! that you is not heard maybe. Anyways why them you is not talkin about them your biraders who is them destroy da whole country?

In sajha people are discussing about the different matter like caste, religion etc. In previous discussion, bahuns were blamed for the present situation of the nation and more. Whether there is reality or not, I don't have any idea. However, we should know that every person from a particular caste are not worse as blamed. There might be arise a question, if all bahuns are worse than what caste is perfectly best? and if there is such best particular caste concidently, all of them never be good. So, it depends upon the person to be good or bad. For example, a bahun couple donated all their property to the hospital because they might be social worker. But all bahun can not donate their property. Also, we should not be in illusion that only bahun can donate their property to the hospital, school or any public welfare organization.
So, we have to know the fact that all bahuns are not bad, all newars are not bad, all chhetris are not bad, all gurungs are not bad etc. and vice versa.
The people from the developed countries laugh while we talk about the caste system in this 21st century. But we can not hide the burning problem of casteism in Nepal. Due to the caste system more than 25% people are living the low standard life than dog. Being a responsible citizen, we everybody keep our effort to eradicate such a superstition from the society and we have to make an equal society.
