I'm going Nepal just before Christmas and I paid in the vicinity of $1500(including tax). Don't know whether it's good deal or bad but was told since that period is peak time thus end up paying three hundred dollars extra! Hope this helps.

Trikalji, you may want to contact a travel agency for this. I have purchased my tickets from Peaceland (see previous posting for contact info) twice and got pretty good deals. The staff including the owner are very pleasant people to deal with. Also 3rd Eye Travels (does anyone have their number?) and Sunrise Travels (which also advertises in Sajha) seem to do a pretty good job. Your possible choices are Cathay Pacific, Korean Air, China Airlines (all via HK or Bangkok), Qatar Airways (only if it is NOT via London or Paris..as a Nepali citizen, you need a transit visa in UK and Paris, Charles de Gaulle is notorious for mishandling baggages), Austrian etc. My suggestion is to go for whichever airline that offers the lowest rate. If you take Cathay Pacific, you may be able to avoid long layovers either way. Traveling between mid December and early January can cost you over $1500. If you can leave earlier, you can easily save at least $200. Hope this helps..subhayatra.
