I am finding it pretty interesting that some posters are disclosing other people's name and business (e.g Phateko kattu mentioned someone and then Kata Laga disclosed Paschim's name). This seems to me a real breach of people's privacy and security. Sure Pateko Kattu might have "just" been talking about someone in passing (I have no idea where BP got the post from) and commenting on how or comely someone is, and not swearing or using profanity, but does someone explicitly have to use "bad" words to qualify for some action on part of the webmaster and condemnation from the general communit of posters? For example, the general attitude behind the whole Tamu Samaj's Buddha Jayanti thread was about disrespect. Many of the participants took the opportunity to diss the paticular person in that infamous photos and make all nature of very offensive sexist and racist comments. And now, even as you read Phateko Kattu's post that BP has quoted above, it does not use profanity, but it is no less rude , obscene and distasteful. So, without censoring some and being the ever vigilant big brother, I would be interested to hear what the webmaster can and should do to ensure the privacy and security of users and others. I thing there is at least one absolute ... that until and unless someone voluntarily discloses their identity to the forum at large, someone else doing so on behalf of others without their consent is wrong and an invasion of their privacy and security. Now about what is "obscene" and what is "acceptable"..... well, let's see what folks think. |

Birader Qallu! Rasta totally agrees with you on them subject of peopals privacy and respecting privacy. Rasta agrees that it is them absolute not nice to mension peopals name without consent from them. That point I is no doubt agrees. But on them subject of Buddha Jayanti Rasta not agree with you. I is think that we is should point them things which is bad. And I is honesteley think it is them not good to Rock and Roll in Buddha Jayanti. I is would not mind if them Dance like them in them Dasain Party or Tihar Party. But I is think being Nepali we is needs to keep them sanctity of certain things. the comment made on the singer sounded quite disrespectful....I mean c'mon...instead of being appreciative of such a talented singer, this dude decided to almost humiliate her by bragging about his huge accomplishment(which hardly anyone would bother to listen to) back in college days...he could be attempting to appreciate her beauty or something but thats definately not the right way...ain't that right? |
